NEWS DESK STORY: ON THE WRONG TRACK?

The world's highest train-ride may put global warming on the side of the Tibetan cause. The Qinghai-Lhasa railway is a $4.2 billion project rife with controversy including fears of melting permafrost beneath the tracks. While the Chinese government tout it as an instrument of progress, environmental and human rights groups have some grave concerns.
