We speak with Dr. Sayyid Syeed, Secretary General and CEO of the the Islamic Society of North America, about the historic
invitation by muslim dignitaries for the Dalai Lama to participate in San Francisco's "Gathering of Hearts Illuminating
Compassion" event on April 15. HH the Dalai Lama has recently described himself as "A defender of Islam", saying
that the religion is too often misunderstood. The conference which drew 600 people aimed to explore how to create a safer
and more tolerant world.

MY DAD'S A MONK!
In our August program, we aired a story Someone Worth Finding about high school teacher, John Bruna, and his unlikely journey
from addiction and homelessness to Tibetan Buddhist monk. We spoke with his 24 year old daughter, JESSICA, who was reunited
with her father when she was 8 years old, and whose blog 'My Dad the Monk' helped her to process her father's unusual transformation.

Tibetan bazaar offering traditional Tibetan food and dance performance, and crosswalks suddenly made brighter from hundreds
